RRP 132 — Elton F. / From a Storage Unit to 4D Recovery: Revisited

Before the life that kept growing, there was one small decision to grow.

If you heard Elton F.'s update last week, you know some of the life she has built: family, work at 4D Recovery, and nearly eight years sober. This is where that story began.

In her original Real Recovery conversation, Elton takes us back to California, where she was homeless and living in a storage unit. She talks about trying to get into detox, calling her mom when she wanted to leave, and a family intervention that asked her to give up the bag she could not yet imagine living without.

There is nothing easy about this episode. There is also no pretending that recovery arrived all at once. Elton tells the truth about the small choices, the treatment center, the meetings, and the people who helped her hold on long enough for life to begin changing.
